The Music: Lisa Miller & Friends

Lisa Miller:

Hailing from Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Lisa Miller has been playing guitar and singing for over 3 decades. Her powerful vocals and rhythm guitar are complimented by her witty song writing abilities. Covering great songs by Sippie Wallance, Dina Washington, Ma Rainey and Skip James, just to name a few, Lisa has shared her brand of blues though out Virginia playing at festivals, wineries and clubs. She released her first CD of original songs in 2010.

Brian Mesko:

Raised in a musical family, Brian has played professionally on guitar, drums and bass for the last 18 years, focusing on Jazz, Blues, Funk and R&B. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Recording Industry, he honed his chops in Nashville, TN with many groups and had the honor of performing with jazz legends Les McCann, Tony Monaco and Dr. Lonnie Smith. Since moving his family to Staunton, VA in 2005, he continues to perform with numerous groups though out the region.

“Blind Dave” Connolly:

Dave Connolly has been playing blues harmonica for more years than he can remember, blending early blues and rock roots with a passion for 40′s jump blues and swing, 50′s rockabilly and classic country music, 60′s soul, jazz, and Motown. DC draws on this diverse musical background to play in a harp style all his own. Never one to learn “licks off records”, it is his unique gumbo of influences that comes out every time he plays.
