From the welcoming Raclette cheese in our tasting room to the yodeling music provided by Liab’ und Schneid to the elegant meal provided by Mike Lund to be paired with Barren Ridge Vineyards wines, this is one special evening that you do not want to miss!

Ever wondered what one of these sounds like? Come and find out!

To celebrate their time spent in some of the most beautiful parts of Europe, John and Shelby Higgs have created a magical evening just for their home in the Shenandoah Valley. The evening will begin in our beautiful 100-year-old renovated winery. Upon entering the Tasting Room, you will be greeted with a roaring fire in the fireplace and a traditional dish of Switzerland, Raclette cheese.

Raclette is both a type of cheese and a Swiss dish based on heating the cheese and scraping off the melted part.

The evening’s festivities will then move upstairs to our Audrey Blackford Room for a 3-course seated dinner prepared by Chef Mike Lund, who spent six years under the tutelage of legendary chef Patrick O’Connell in the renowned kitchen of The Inn at Little Washington. Formerly Executive Chef at Zynodoa Restaurant in Staunton, Chef Lund is widely known in the area as a pillar of the farm-to-table movement. His expertise in showcasing the Shenandoah Valley’s flavors will be on full display with a Scandinavian-inspired menu paired with Barren Ridge Vineyards wine. More details about Chef Lund’s dinner menu are included below.
